Welcome to the Attleboro Clean Energy Project Documents Page

The proposed project represents the commercialization of Ze-gen’s proprietary advanced gasification technology. Through the conversion of specific non-recyclable proceed waste materials (“feedstock”) into a high-quality, tar-free syngas, the project will generate thermal energy for the tenants of the surrounding Attleboro Corporate Campus. The project is based upon successful testing (over 3600 hours) and operation at Ze-gen’s New Bedford Demonstration Facility.

Below, we have provided a link to download documents related directly to the project. It is important to note that the Project received MEPA approval in October 2010. Since then, we have arrived at the decision that the Project would be better suited to the site if it is built at half of the originally proposed processing capacity.

More specifically, we are now looking to build a plant that processes half the amount of feedstock which is 75 tons per day down from 150 tons per day. This change does not include any changes to the types of proposed feedstock (railroad ties, creosote-treated utility poles, carpet fibers, non-recyclable source separated plastics, and residuals from industrial glycol processing). Furthermore, the proposed change only reduces the impact to the environment as we are not changing the air pollution controls and so there will be a decrease in the air emissions as reported in the EIR.
